Three species belonged to the genus Hennegoides (H. berlandi, H. malayensis, and H. pangasii), 1 to Henneguya (H. shariffi) and 2 to Myxobolus (M. baskai, and M. pangasii). Studies on some aspects of biology with special references to induced spawning of thai pangas (Pangasius sutchi Flowler, 1937)

A total number of 88 fishes Thai pangas were conducted for induced spawning experiments. Among them, 30 mature Pangasius sutchi were conducted for the length-weight relationship, 25 matured females for the fecundity and 33 fishes (12 males and 21 females) for induced spawning experiments. The total-standard length relationship curve shows a straight line with a strong correlation (r = 0.986 and...

Influence of Probiotics on Water Quality and Fish Yield in Fish Ponds

Increased production of fish through intense culture practices often leads to not only stress and disease problems but also alteration in water quality. The organic wastes and bad water quality influence the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. Bioremediation using pond probiotics is considered a promising way to circumvent these problems. For this study, three earthen fish ponds stocked with P...
